Day One App Reviews

It’s very useful to all I do everyday(diary, studying.etc…). I’m very glad if I can change picture’s size of look. One note and Evernote can do it.

Date line is displayed in different page when exporting as PDF

I love this app, But when I export entries as PDF, portrait pictures and dates are printed in different pages. Please fix this issue.

iCloud does not sync to. Never purchase

iCloud does not sync to. Never purchase. iMac, iPad and iPhone that will not sync inputs. I want to return or iCloud synchronization product fee.

Free updates couldn

A paid upgrade had to arrive sooner or later. Adding multiple photos is something I’m willing to pay and I hope that the developers will use my money to further improve the app. I just wish they had kept dropbox sync instead of introducing their own service.

Not worth the money

The UI has been changed, for worse in my opinion. Functionality is very similar, only big difference being multiple photos per post, which is not a difference for me – journaling isn’t about pictures. You cannot control the backup process like before and choose a local backup location, so you have no control over where the app stores your journal which is kind of scary. No Dropbox or Drive or iCloud sync, only DayOne Sync. Do I really have to upload all my personal stuff into another companys cloud to keep it in sync? In general, upgrade is not worth the money in my opinion.

Sync is not working

Sync is not working. Why did you turn off icloud/dropbox sync option and launch your service that is not working?

No sync with iCloud!

Piece of...

So it was my first experiense with such kind of apps. And after just a few days of usage I can say that I really disapoinetd! Buggy an overpriced. No sync between devices, horrable intarface, and it crashes as often as alpha pre release version. Im about to write a letter to have a cashback. Find some other beta testers for that sum

Mixed feelings.

Been using the version 2 from the beginning (as well as version 1 for quite some time) on everyday basis. Unfortunately, there’s only two points for which i can give a star: 1. seeing the outdated skewomorphic design go 2. ability to attach several photos to the entry. As for the 3 stars absent, i will add them as the following will change: 1. Biggest one - the app feels like some complicated office organizer. It’s overburdened by buttons, icons and info. For me, a process of keeping a diary is intimate. It needs to be as minimalized as possible, and, if i may, cozy. I imagine it to be something like this: i start making an entry by selecting a photo, which then acts like a background for the entry. So, when i’m typing, i don’t see any interface - only date and the photo in the background. And performance could be better for an app with such simple task. 2. Unicode fonts. Most of the fonts are unavaliable in Russian. For those available, they’re not applying to the entry list menu, instead, there’s just bold helvetica. Also, font does not apply to the text while typing (in russian), only after saving. 3. Icon desing and some other parts sharing it’s color scheme (which is a bit cheesy, btw. In my mind, light blue just doesn’t fit with the idea of a personal journal) feels overflatted. Even Apple, who pushed flat ideas, use complex shadows.

A solid update that definitely needs some work

Day One needs serious work. Surely there are new features, but drawbacks persist for too long. I liked

Russian localization not full

Could be a bit better

Could you please make it so the text doesnt jump when editing and so I could start editing on double-click or something. I dont want to press "Edit" every time. Thanks.

Get Dropbox sync back !!!

Ok , I can understand that OneDay Sync is now mature enough … but still it should be the user to decide whether to use it or not.

Its crash frequency unnerves me

I like the way the app works and it helped me write more and better, even if it is a bit expensive for what it does and for how it works. There are many ways in which it could be improved (for one, ability to save what you are writing before you finished writing, just by pressing a key). But - sadly - what is really bad is that it is really wasting my time, when it frequently and unexplicably it crashes and trashes all that I have written in the past 10 mintes or so. CAN YOU GUYS FIX THIS? I NORMALLY DON’T WRITE REVIEWS BUT THIS APP REALLY FORCED ME TO.

Extremely buggy, nothing really works as intended

I cannot believe that the app so buggy and badly done has made its way to the app store and is so expensive. Basically, nothing works. Search does not work. It constantly crashes. Synchronization does not work. Sometimes, authentication does not work. IFTTT integration does not work. Support simply does not reply.

Awesome App

The app is awesome and is really easy to use. I use it to keep track of daily events and to log all my daily activities in a journal form.

Easy to use, visually pleasing

This is a good journal for Apple based products. There may be an equally good app for Apple, but I have not found it.

Just get it

Easily the most enjoyable (and efficient) way to record your thoughts on the day (or anything, for that matter). If you are looking for an app that syncs across all your devices and offers a beautiful/slick interface, this is it.

Love

What I like best: the ability to write in different journals, the ability to add photos to a post (or start a photo by adding it to the selected Day One journal I want, simple use from phone or computer. It’s quick and easy to get out simple thoughts, concerns, and documentation.
