Not worth the money

The UI has been changed, for worse in my opinion. Functionality is very similar, only big difference being multiple photos per post, which is not a difference for me – journaling isn’t about pictures.

You cannot control the backup process like before and choose a local backup location, so you have no control over where the app stores your journal which is kind of scary. No Dropbox or Drive or iCloud sync, only DayOne Sync. Do I really have to upload all my personal stuff into another companys cloud to keep it in sync?

In general, upgrade is not worth the money in my opinion.
