Great app but lacks in data privacy
I love DayOne as a diary app, both on my Mac and on my iPhone. But since version v2 I am forced to use their sync servers to store my data in the cloud. They claim the data records are encrypted and they can not have access to it - only I need to trust them. Still I have a bad feeling in my stomach, since personal diary data is quite personal and should be kept secret against everyone.
They promised with release of 2.0 to develop data record encryption by optional use of the users own private key, which would truly keep all unauthorized people out, but up to know they have not delivered.
Therefore I will continue to look at an alternative, competetive app, and then I will move away from DayOne. Really pity, since DO is a phantastic app, stable and with great features.
Just (5.Aug.16) saw your announcement on Facebook confirming you are working on full end-to-end encryption. That gives me some hope I can stay with your product. Once it is delivered and I am satisfied, I will upgrade my rating to full 5 stars!
